DOUBT WAS PALPABLE – a sickly apprehension left her tongue dry & eyes hollowed out – no brightness could survive in the presence of absolute darkness. Talon does her best to regain composure , fingers uncoiling from their iron hold upon the pommel of her saber, & her back is straightened in full – no taller than the lecherous sith lord who moved with the elegance & sinister nature, of a snake.

But she was as much a viper as either of them —— more venom, less potency. A wildfire trapped by like colored skin & she’s taming it as best she might, containment not so easy when in the presence of an accelerant , lapping against her reservoirs of self control with all the might of a hurricane ( but not enough to douse her flame ) —

A time yet to pass. I will have seen the fall of the empire — the sith will rise & the jedi …….. the ENDURE. You will fail, A pause — images of a SKYWALKER ( love & hate boil to a FROTH ) , flash behind her eyes & she’s biting her tongue until her mouth is filled with the hot stream of blood.

“ I am exclusively loyal to the Lord of the Sith and as there exists none other than you in this time it is my duty to be your right hand. It is my only calling, & I have served my past lords very well.  Knowing Vader was filled with not but protest – she’s directed her words AT him, an underlying current of animosity flowing steadily between them.

VADER KNOWS HIS time is burning up a constant acceleration, && that he can no longer afford entanglements of diffuse enmities && possibilities. The capsized reality is that he has dreamed of his own death for years now, && every moment of inaction multiplies the dangers. He has a son, one he must either turn or kill by Sidious’s command.

Luke leans on the light to guide him, fighting for the memory of a dead man && a misconstrued belief system. All things die. Love corrodes into greed, trust rotting away into skepticism && unbalance. What madness to ever rely on anyone— another inbred failing of the whole Force-damn species. But even in this foolishness Vader knows he could never kill him. He is his flesh && blood, the remaining link to everything he’s destroyed. What he made ruins for. He cannot kill the boy, but Sidious will never let him live if he doesn’t fall.

This of course, leaves Vader with one option: kill Sidious. Save his son, somehow. But this woman threatens the now sole drift of the Sith lord’s purpose. Sinuous frost laces around his ribcage, as if anticipating a blow. The Force gapes empty && hungry around him, threatening to swallow && smother, to silence the secrets of the future the twi’lek claims to hold.

❝ Impossible, ❞ Sidious’s withered voice snaps through his thoughts, his yellow teeth flashing in a ghoulish snarl. ❝ The boy will fall, he must. Or he will die. ❞ Vader ignores the twist of anger in his stomach, the way it scintillates until the raw power fills his hungering mind for a brief, entranced moment.

❝ Anyone loyal to a lord of the Sith would be aware of the rule of two.  What proof do you have that you are indeed from the future, && not loyal to a rogue Sith lord of the present? ❞
